RAISE AWARENESS

Raising awareness about the benefits of daily mindful awareness—particularly in educational settings—is essential. Mindful awareness enhances individual well-being and positively impacts communities as a whole. Research shows that when students routinely practice mindful awareness, they improve emotional regulation, social skills, academic performance, and overall quality of life.

BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS

We’re launching a nationwide campaign to reach school communities, families and caregivers, mental and public health providers, and community leaders about the importance of integrating daily mindful awareness into the school day. We need partners like you!

An Urgent Call for Action

The youth mental health crisis has reached an alarming and urgent level. Recent data from the CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey (2024) reveals that 40% of youth experienced persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness in 2023, a stark reflection of the growing mental health struggles among young people. Key statistics underscore the severity of the situation:

50%

20%

76%

67%

of all lifetime mental illnesses begin by age 14 (NAMI, n.d.)

of youth between 12 and 17 have experienced at least one major depressive episode in the past year (Mental Health America, 2024)

of high school students reported experiencing at least one form of childhood trauma (CDC, 2024)

of LGBTQ+ youth reported experiencing anxiety (The Trevor Project, 2023)

The urgency of this crisis goes far beyond funding a patchwork of services; a healthier future for our youth demands a sweeping systemic change in how we support their mental health and wellbeing. Equally, it requires elevating youth voices to help prioritize those strategies that best meet their needs.
